Official opening ceremony of the model reconstruction of the Railway Station in Bielsko-Biala.
The official inauguration of the model reconstruction of the railway station in Bielsko in H0 scale will be one of the attractions of the upcoming meetings and the modellers’ competition ‘Workshops 2009’. The city owes the beautiful building of the imperial northern railway that dates back to Austro-Hungarian Empire to Karol Schulz - an architect who originated from Bielsko-Biala. The project refers to provincial Austrian style of railway stations.
The Visualization form – year 1900 - was not a coincidental choice. The photographic documentation available, not only allowed the representation of the actual appearance of the building, but also enabled to complement it with the models of the electric tram communication launched in 1895 in Bielsko. The 150cm long model station presented in an 87-time minimization together with the samples of surrounding rail and tram infrastructure will bring back the history of the abundant development of Bielsko-Biala city and the wonderful dynamics of the penetration of three different cultures: Polish, Austrian and German. This return to the historical past presented by the model will generate the opportunity for development of the citizens’ imagination and awareness. It will be equally beneficial for the tourists and most of all for the children who always greatly appreciate cultural and technical content served in an attractive manner. It also allows the opportunity for the model to reach the furthest nooks of the world in order to provide documentary evidence of the civilizational development of our region. This subsequently clarifies our origins and where we are heading for, keeping abreast of the technical culture progress. The presentation will be accompanied by a media visualization of the model computer-aided designed in virtual reality.

The ambitious project will be supplemented by an exhibition of the scans and photographs of the railway station together with the surroundings available on old postcards, in reprints and albums devoted to the history of Bielsko-Biala, in old and contemporary photography. The railway station served citizens and entrepreneurs from dynamically developing cities and it was a showpiece of the civilizational progress and the world market availability thanks to railway being in its full bloom, industrial revolution and steam epoque. All the listed elements so important for lifting the civilizational rank of the region appeared in it thanks to railway.
Through thorough reconstruction the railway station regained its old splendour and it is now testimony for the revival of the position of our city and region. It arouses jealousy and approval in the eyes of tourists coming from the distant nooks and it issues the highest notes to the hosts and grateful citizens whom the station served.
Attention to detail of the technical culture in the original as well as the model will be appreciated by the next generations of citizens, visiting guests and participants at fairs organized in our region, elsewhere in Poland or abroad. The model of the railway station in Bielsko, accurately projected thanks to the most up-to-date techniques of designing and 3D modelling, will become the ambassador of high-level technical culture. With a relatively small expenditure it can represent us proudly during various events periodically taking place in attractive advisory worldwide centres of culture and technique, tourist fairs, rallies and museum events.
The owner of the model manufacture TOLOLOKO assures that meeting this challenge will be possible thanks to the competence of the whole team. These people will put their best effort in making this ambitious venture bear the plentiful fruit in the form of a representative and unusually attractive model.
